Fascia:

These are the boards that sit under the edge of the roof titles to which gutters and down pipes are normally attached. Traditional softwood fascia’s deteriorate quite quickly, especially if the guttering is not working effectively and they are subject to excess water and weather exposure.

Barge-board.

Visually similar to fascia’s these are the boards that fit under the side edge of the roof-line (gable end). Unprotected and exposed constantly to all weathers, barge-boards are sometimes the worst offenders for peeling paint & rotted softwood, allowing major water penetration and subsequent internal damage to the house.

UPVC Soffits

Sited under the fascia, soffits are the boards which fill the gap between the wall and the roof line. Not all roof lines have soffits as the fascia sits tight against the wall of the property, but where they are in place, they can have high visual impact.

Guttering & Down Pipes.

Rainwater from the roof is collected in the gutters and directed to the down-pipes which deliver the water to ground level and into your drainage system. Older gutters & pipes can suffer from poor or perished joints leading to water damage to the fascia’s & soffits, or penetration of water into the home.
